ABOUTHello stranger!
My name is Vanessa Oliveira, I live in Porto, Portugal and I have over 10 years' experience in the creative field.
I have a degree in Sound and Image from the Catholic University of Porto, followed by a postgraduate degree in Motion Design from ESAD Porto.Although the focus of my education was video, I was always interested in exploring more areas and accepting any challenge that came my way, which means that I now have experience in various areas such as illustration, graphic design and even production.I've been working remotely or freelance since 2019.
I played an active role in building the Brazilian YouTube channel Toda Matéria, which now has over 400,000 followers.

In the meantime, I also collaborated on the total rebranding of the American company StudySoup, contributing illustrations to the website, user testing, creating new video products and later managing the growing video team itself.Even though it seems that my focus has been on education in recent years, I have continued to freelance in different areas, from the corporate world to the startup world, which allows me to have a wide range of experience with different clients that can be seen in the work selected in this portfolio.I enjoy working on projects with a social cause or that have a positive impact on the consumer and I like to combine my design skills with a project or brand that wants to change people's lives for the better.Don't hesitate to reach out if you want to know more!

Producing

ANSWEREDDuring my time at StudySoup I had the challenge of being one of the producers on the team that created the product "answerED", a set of videos that answered specific questions about the textbooks most used by North American university students.
I had to supervise a team of 3 illustrators, 3 editors, 2 voiceover artists, while at the same time proofreading the videos to make sure they complied with everything indicated by the teachers who checked the scripts.
Initially, I also facilitated the interaction between teachers and scriptwriters, in order to achieve a script that was as visual as possible and with enough tips for the creatives to reproduce the content reliably. Here are some examples of animations used in videos to facilitate student learning.
